How Much CBD Am I Getting? Understanding Cost Per Milligram
If you’ve been considering taking CBD, you’ve probably done a little window shopping already. It is likely that you have noticed a plethora of different CBD products on the market. With so many different options– each with different price tags and varying amounts of CBD in them, it can be challenging to choose which product is best for you.
So, you decided to stick with the basics and get yourself a plain old bottle of CBD oil. Easy, right?
That is until you discover that buying CBD oil can be just as confusing as buying any other CBD product. Most companies that sell CBD oil seem to have three or four of the same sized bottles with different price tags.
If you have wondered why a 100 ml bottle of CBD costs $150 while the same sized bottle right next to it is only $50, you are not alone. The answer lies in the potency of the CBD itself, not in the quantity of oil.
CBD is Sold by The Milligram
CBD products are sold in a wide range of potencies, generally priced according to the amount of CBD contained in each bottle or container.
So, where the $50 bottle might last you a week, the higher potency CBD could last you two or three times as long. The reason for this is that you will have to use much less of the higher concentration of CBD oil per serving.
Almost all CBD products are priced per milligram of CBD, which is why you pay $150 for 1,500 milligrams (bottle 1) and $50 for 200 milligrams (bottle 2).
In the example above, you are paying only $ 0.10 per milligram in ‘bottle 1’, but for ‘bottle 2’, you are paying $0.25 per milligram. Now, that’s a substantial price difference! In fact, you are paying two-and-a-half times the price per milligram if you buy the cheaper bottle of CBD.
An Easy Formula To Calculate The Cost of Your CBD
If you want to know how to calculate the price per mg of any CBD product, you can use this simple formula:
Total price divided by total milligrams equals cost per mg.
PRICE ÷ TOTAL MG = Cost Per MG
