However, the protein which is contained in hemp seeds is lost in the refinement process of hemp seed oil. Similarly, other CBD carrier oils such as MCT coconut oil or olive oil don’t contain any protein either. This dietary fact means that, unless you buy a CBD oil which has had protein specifically added to it, it likely won’t add much extra protein to your diet.
If you’re looking to get your protein from a hemp-based source, you’re better off using either raw hemp seeds or hemp protein powder as opposed to CBD oil. While CBD is an incredible supplement on its own, you probably won’t be able to swap it out for your regular protein supplements.
When considering using raw hemp materials as a source of protein, there are a few essential things to consider. Make sure you’re buying your hemp from a reputable company, and that the plants are grown organically and with sustainable farming practices. Also, as with any other health supplement, make sure you consult with your doctor before starting to use any hemp product.
